Russell Brand files for divorce from Katy Perry

Russell Brand has announced he has filed for divorce from US singer Katy Perry after 14 months of marriage. The couple met in 2008 and married in October 2010 at a resort inside a tiger reserve in India.

The comedian filed divorce papers in the Los Angeles Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences.

In a statement the 36-year-old said: "Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I'll always adore her and I know we'll remain friends."

The announcement comes after speculation in the press about the state of their relationship.

The couple spent Christmas apart, Brand was pictured in Cornwall while Perry was seen spending it with friends in Hawaii - neither was wearing a wedding ring.

Brand made his US breakthrough presenting the MTV awards in 2008, causing outrage when he branded then-President George W Bush "a retarded cowboy fella" who "wouldn't be trusted with scissors" in England.

Despite the controversy, he was asked back in 2009 and went on to score acting roles in Hollywood comedies like Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

This year Brand played the animated heir to the Easter Bunny's throne in the family film "Hop" and took on the title role in "Arthur", a reimagining of the 1981 Dudley Moore classic.

Perry's run of No. 1 singles earned her the distinction of becoming MTV's first artist of the year earlier this month.

When she hosted the US comedy show "Saturday Night Live" on December 10 she gave no indication the couple was in trouble.[bbc.co.uk]

Carol Channing 'sweetheart' Harry Kullijian dies aged 91

Harry Kullijian, the former childhood sweetheart of Carol Channing whom the veteran actress married in 2003, has died in Rancho Mirage, California.

The former land developer died on Monday on the eve of his 92nd birthday after suffering an aneurysm at home.

Kullijian and Channing were high school sweethearts in the 1930s before the latter's mother split them up.

Reunited decades later, they married in a matter of months when Channing was 82 and Kullijian 83.

Speaking in 2003, Channing said they had "picked up" their relationship from where they left it seven decades earlier.

"The years between disappeared, just disappeared," the Broadway actress told CNN broadcaster Larry King.

Following their marriage, Kullijian became his wife's manager and formed a charitable foundation with her to support arts education in schools.

Born in Turlock, California in 1919, he fought in World War II and Korea before going into walnut farming, real estate and local government.

Channing played the title role in the original 1964 production of Hello Dolly and was Oscar nominated four years later for her performance in Thoroughly Modern Millie.[bbc.co.uk]

Rosie Huntington - Whiteley Flaunts Super-Skinny Bikini Bod in Miami

Holiday hotness! Rosie Huntington-Whiteley flaunted her super-skinny bikini bod in Miami Friday during a poolside vacation with boyfriend Jason Statham.

Showing off her curves in a mismatched printed suit, Huntington-Whiteley accessorized her look with oversized sunglasses.

Hailed as the sexiest woman alive by magazines like FHM and Maxim, the 24-year-old supermodel-turned-actress admits she hasn't always been comfortable in her own skin.

"I was a bit of an Ugly Betty when I was 15," the Transformers beauty told the December issue of Harper's Bazaar, referring to the frizzy-haired character made famous by America Ferrera on the ABC series.

These days, though, the Victoria's Secret model is more than happy to put her famous assets on display.

"There's always a moment [at parties] when some great song comes on and everyone's like, 'Do the runway walk, Rosie!' And you're like, 'No, no, no,' and then you begrudgingly get up and do your thing," she tells Harper's. "It might be my little party trick. It always gets applause."[usmagazine.com]

The fourth instalment in the Mission: Impossible franchise has taken the number one spot at the US box office over the four-day Christmas weekend.

Ghost Protocol, starring Tom Cruise, made $46.2m (£29.5m) and pushed Sherlock Holmes into second spot.

The action movie came in third place last week after making its debut at a limited number of screens.

Steven Spielberg's Tintin and War Horse entered the chart at five and seven respectively.

The director's motion capture version of the Belgian boy adventurer, which has proved a box office hit around the world, made a modest $16.1m (£10.2m) on its Christmas opening in North America.

Meanwhile, Spielberg's adaptation of Michael Morpurgo's book about a horse who is sent to fight during World War I, began business on Sunday and took $15m (£9.5m).

Lustrous locks: Kate and the secrets of a glossy Chelsea blow-dry

The big question all Kate-watchers are asking is: what has the Duchess of Cambridge done to her hair — and, more importantly, how can we get the look ourselves?

This week, visiting a London homeless shelter with Prince William, she wore a daringly figure-hugging Ralph Lauren sweater dress — but all eyes were on her luxuriant chestnut locks, cascading into big, shiny, bouncy curls worthy of a L’Oreal advert.

The polished style Kate favours, with its loose, subtle movement, even has its own nickname. It’s become known as the Chelsea Blow Dry because it’s the brainchild of Chelsea-based hairdresser Richard Ward, and is favoured by other glossy celebrities such as Elle Macpherson and Kelly Brook.

But Kate’s well-tended locks have been transformed over the years from the pleasant mousey tresses she sported at university to a lustrous mane that is the envy of women the world over. So how has she done it?

The Richard Ward team has tended the locks of not only Kate but the entire Middleton family, including Pippa and Carole, for years. Here, he tells us how you can recreate the look yourself.

The Cut

The bad news is that unless you have shoulder-blade length hair to begin with, copying the Duchess will take patience.

Richard advises that it is likely to take someone with shoulder-length hair at least five or six months to grow theirs to Kate’s length — shorter layers should also be grown out because the hair needs to be at one length in order to cut in those expensive-looking layers.

‘Long layers are the key to this look,’ he says. ‘They give free-flowing hair lots of movement — if the layers are too short you don’t get that kind of fluidity throughout the cut. Aim for a side-swept, chin-length fringe and then ask your hairdresser to gently graduate longer layers down from there.’

Once you’ve achieved the ‘Kate’, it doesn’t need to be re-cut as often as other styles. ‘It’s proving popular with so many people because you don’t have to cut every six weeks as usual, you can actually get 12 weeks out of this cut,’ says Richard.

‘Ideally you might want a trim every eight weeks — but a word of warning, anything longer than 12 weeks and it will have grown out so much that your hairdresser will have to re-style your hair each time, too.’

The Colour

Gentlemen prefer blondes? Not now it seems, as Kate’s glossy chestnut glow is the shade everyone wants to emulate.

In order to recreate a similar colour to Kate’s natural tone, Richard suggests an organic vegetable colour to give gloss and shine which will gradually fade over time. ‘At the salon we use L’Oreal Symbio and Fuente Organic colour.

These salon professional colours are ultra conditioning and give richness and intensity. The colour ebbs away naturally and you only need to have it re-done every few months,’ he says.

Richard suggests opting for a dark brunette shade with mahogany tones to emulate Kate’s shade. For fuller depth, Richard advises combining a colour gloss treatment with lowlights.

‘Ask your stylist for three different shades of lowlights, one lighter than your natural base colour, one about the same and one slightly darker to create a multi-tonal affect in the same hues. Dying just a few strands of hair in each shade, as opposed to large sections, achieves a more natural look.’

While at 29, the Duchess has youth on her side, Richard says that her signature shade is just as flattering on a more mature woman too, as the combination of semi-permanent colour and lowlights is clever way to hide the impending grey.

Treatments

How does she get that healthy frizz-free sheen? Keratin treatments have long been the secret of well-groomed women who spend serious money on their image. Although the Duchess has never confirmed she’s had one, this intensive treatment totally transforms unruly or frizzy hair.

The procedure has a few different brand names including the ‘permanent blow dry’, but all work on the same principle of restoring sleekness by infusing it with keratin — a natural protein found in the hair.

‘The attraction of Kate’s style is how healthy her hair looks,’ says Richard. ‘It’s also beautifully blow-dried and to recreate this at home would take lots of time. Many people whose hair takes a long time to dry would find a keratin treatment good because it can halve the time it takes to dry and increases the hair’s shine and smoothness.’

A salon-based keratin treatment costs upwards of £150 and takes about two-and-a-half hours depending on the length and thickness of your hair.

It begins with a wash using a special shampoo to open up the hair follicles. The hair is then rough-dried by a stylist and when completely dry, a keratin mixture is applied to the entire head with a small brush and combed through to ensure complete coverage.

About 30 minutes later, the stylist will begin blow-drying the mixture to make it bond with your hair.

When the hair is dried into your usual style with the hairdryer, it is divided into sections and a pair of ultra-hot miniature straighteners are used to seal the product into the hair shaft.

Hair must then be left for three days. It cannot be tied back, got wet or tucked behind your ears as this can ‘kink’ it. After washing at home, three days later, unmanageable hair is transformed into glossy tameable locks with no frizz. The treatment lasts for four months before it washes out.

‘Treatment masks are a good option to keep hair healthy, too,’ says Richard, who advises using an intensive conditioning product every other week.

‘Try a silk protein or overnight mask treatment — damaged hair, split ends or dry-looking hair won’t work for this look.’

Richard Ward makes an overnight treatment mask called Seasons Winter Hydrate Kit (£22) which is applied to dry hair 15 minutes before you go to bed and hydrates hair while you sleep without leaving a residue on the pillow.

Maintenance

Another of Kate’s secrets is consistency — at every event she’s appeared at over the past few months her gleaming hair has looked identical. The Duchess has regular visits to the salon and a hair-care routine aimed at maintaining optimum condition.

Want to steal some of Kate’s shine? Obviously the first place to start is a good quality shampoo and conditioner.

‘I recommend that my clients use Kerastase Satin Range or my own Richard Ward Couture Hair HydraSlim range,’ says Richard. ‘It uses technology which repairs damage in hair so, if you use it regularly, you’ll have healthy shiny hair. Damaged hair is frizzy while Kate’s signature look is smooth.’

And how often should we be washing our locks? ‘Generally fine hair might need washing every day, while thicker hair like Kate’s should be washed every other day,’ says Richard.

‘This look is all about being polished and your hair will not shine and gleam on day three.’

The blow dry

Perhaps the most crucial part of Kate’s glossy look is the finishing touch — the blow dry. ‘The Chelsea Blow Dry is a free-flowing sophisticated way to wear long hair,’ says Richard.

And the good news is, while Kate makes an appointment with the professionals before a public appearance, you can recreate Kate’s mane at home. Richard guides us through the steps:

1. Make sure you leave yourself enough time, it should take about 45 minutes.

First, thoroughly cleanse and condition your hair. ‘Use the flats of your fingers not your fingertips or nails to massage in the product and encourage increased circulation to the scalp,’ says Richard.

Rinse your hair for two minutes to ensure any product residue is removed — hair will shine if rinsed really well. Lightly towel dry.

2. Now apply styling products. Use some blow dry oil or serum (a blob about the size of a five pence piece) and smooth from mid-length to the ends to give lovely sheen. Spritz a root boosting product evenly on the first two inches of hair only.

3. For the shiniest finish, hair shouldn’t be dripping, but 80 per cent wet when you start blowdrying — you’ll get the best results when you still have moisture in your hair.
‘The main mistake people make is waving a hair dryer at it to rough dry it,’ says Richard. ‘It becomes over-dried and hard to style.’

4. ‘Start blow-drying at the front if you’re doing it at home — that’s the bit others will see,’ he says.
It also means that this most visible part will be wet enough to get the best styling results. If you start at the back, by the time you reach the front, your hair may be dry and more difficult to manage.

5. Dry each section using a round brush, pointing downwards — use the nozzle of the dryer to concentrate heat on the section, but make sure you hold it at least five inches away from the hair.

Don’t wiggle the brush around too much — move the hairdryer and brush down the hair shaft at the same speed and smooth downward. Once each section is dry, roll it up in a medium sized Velcro roller (available from Boots or any salon) and pin to your head.

6. Keep the rollers in while you get dressed (ideally for half an hour) and remove just before you leave the house. Once you’ve taken the rollers out, turn your head upside down and run your fingers through your hair to separate out the curls.

Finishing Touches

To help keep your blow- dried tresses in shape, apply a tiny bit of serum to give shine and define layers, then a light mist of hairspray.

‘Whatever you do, don’t brush your hair!’ says Richard. ‘Simply toss your head the right way again and you’re good to go.’[dailymail.co.uk]

Kate Middleton's Sexy Bikini Bod
Kate Middleton is white hot!

In a series of never-before-seen photos taken while the princess-to-be vacationed with Prince William in Ibiza, Spain, in 2006, Middleton shows off her tanned and toned physique in a sexy white bikini.

Since she began dating the future king eight years ago, Middleton has diligently been preparing for her royal close-up.

The 29-year-old -- who quit her job at her family's party supply business to prep full time for her wedding -- has transformed from "a university student into a woman," Simone Simmons, a close pal of the late Princess Diana, tells Us. "I call it that she lost her puppy fat!"

How does Middleton maintain her hot bod? With regular workouts at London's Clarence House gym and beauty treatments at Richard Ward Hair and Metrospa in the British city's Sloane Square.

"Kate is always perfectly manicured, and she will have blow-dries before she goes out," says Katie Nicholl, royal watcher and author of William and Harry: Behind the Palace Walls.

Still, commoner Middleton sometimes finds herself overwhelmed by all the fuss. "Now, she has a full entourage in tow," Nicholl tells Us. "The enormity of what she's in is finally sinking in."[usmagazine.com]

Giuliana and Bill Rancic Name Their New Restaurant

Giuliana and Bill Rancic Name Their New Restaurant
Well this sounds molto benne!

Giuliana and Bill Rancic have finally decided on the moniker for their new, Chicago-based Italian restaurant: RPM Italian.

The E! News host explained that she and her hubby were in favor of using the last initials of the partners in the establishment (the Rancics, chef Doug Psaltis and the Melman siblings, R.J., Jerrod and Molly) as opposed to naming it after her mom, whose last name is DePandi.

"As we got further into the planning for the restaurant, we realized that the name Mama DePandi's felt more Old World Italian, and this restaurant is anything but," Giuliana told E! News. "We are very excited to be this close to the opening and can't wait for Chicago to experience the delicious food that Doug has been creating for the menu."

RPM Italian is due to open in January 2012. The 10,000 square foot restaurant will offer a menu including Chef Doug's own dishes as well as Mama DePandi's authentic Italian recipes.

"One of the things I'm most excited about is that my mom will regularly be around at the restaurant so diners will get a chance to have my mama feed them just like she's been feeding me my whole life," explained Giuliana. "She's really been amazing throughout this process giving us ideas and inspiration."[usmagazine.com]

No Place Like ‘Home for the Holidays’ for Justin Bieber

No Place Like ‘Home for the Holidays’ for Justin Bieber

After a whirlwind year that included the debut of his movie "Never Say Never," the conclusion of his international "My World" tour, accusations that he fathered a child (whoops, that's probably a sore spot!), and coupledom with teen queen Selena Gomez, pop star Justin Bieber headed exactly where he wanted to be for the holidays: home. On Wednesday, the 17-year-old spent the day out and about in his native Canada for some holiday fun.

First, the crooner fulfilled every hockey fan's dream when he hit the ice with the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs at the Air Canada Centre, then made a donation at the Daily Bread Food Bank. Later, the Biebs did what he does best and performed at the city's Massey Hall to film a TV special, "Justin Bieber: Home for the Holidays." (The full special will air for the Great White North audiences on MuchMusic and CTV on Thursday.) Justin seemed, well, right at home during the concert near his Stratford, Ontario, hometown, even bringing his little sister, 3-year-old Jazmyn, onstage for a solid five minutes. And yes, as you can imagine, it was adorable!

The show, which also featured Bieber's renditions of his new hit "Mistletoe" and oldies but goodies like "Baby," was all for a good cause. Proceeds from the sales of the heartthrob's holiday album, Under the Mistletoe, and the concert will benefit the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada. He even gave an oversized $500,000 check to a few smiling kids on behalf of the organization during the festivities.

"Tonight was special," he tweeted later. "No rules. Music, family, friends, fans, charity, and music. Thank you. #HomeForTheHolidays"

Let's hope Canadian Beliebers will send Bieber back to the U.S. in 2012![omg.yahoo.com]

Molly Sims : My Hot Sexy Body "Does Not Come Naturally"

Molly Sims : My Hot Sexy Body "Does Not Come Naturally"

It requires a lot of discipline to look as good as Molly Sims.

The 38-year-old model-turned-actress covers the January issue of Shape, where she admits her incredible physique "does not come naturally. I wasn't born with this body."

"I have to work out 60 to 90 minutes at least five days a week and stick to a high-fiber, low-calorie eating plan," Sims explains.

The Project Accessory host wasn't always so dedicated to her health. After a string of fad diets and erratic workout routines, Sims was determined to find something that would stick.

"I wanted to be consistent with my exercise, so I committed to working out for 30 days in a row, no matter what," she tells Shape. "For an hour every day, I did something. I was on the elliptical or the treadmill, and if someone asked me to go to a class -- whether it was spinning, boxing, yoga, you name it -- I went."

Sims, who recently wed movie producer Scott Stuber, 42, eventually fell in love with the gym.

"By the end of the month, I felt so good, I just kept going," she recalls. "I didn't want to lose my momentum."[usmagazine.com]

A Guide To Returning Christmas Gifts

Though Christmas may be the season of giving, some gifts may not be much of a pleasure to receive. Even though your Great Aunt's heart may have been in the right place when she sent you that oversized, shapeless sweater or pair of ugly reindeer socks, let's face it, you're never going to use them. Many retailers have had to tighten up return policies as a result of items being fraudulently returned. So how do you best return or exchange unwanted gift items with the least amount of stress?

Avoid Opening Packages or Removing Tags

Although you may feel a temptation to open a boxed or packaged gift to take a closer look, or perhaps even to try on a clothing item that's so bad it's downright amusing, try to restrain yourself. Opening packages or removing tags often makes it more difficult to return items, and some stores may charge a restocking fee or not accept them at all. This is especially the case with certain types of gifts, like CDs and DVDs, or any item with damaged packaging where the item cannot be resold. For best results, don't open boxes or take off tags until you're sure you want to keep the gift. (Check out 7 Unique And Inexpensive Gifts For The Holidays.)

Review the Exchange Policy

Every merchant's return policy is different. Once you've decided that you'll be returning a gift, take a look at the store's return policy. This can often be found on the merchant's website or on the back of the receipt. Some stores place limits on when gifts can be returned, or may charge restocking fees. Know what you're getting into before you head out to the store. Keep in mind that smaller retailers often have much stricter return policies and almost always require a receipt for returns.

Get the Receipt

Returning an item is almost always easier when you have the receipt. Whether it's the original store receipt or a gift receipt, the process will almost always go a lot more smoothly. Some stores may offer store credit on items returned without a receipt, but this is generally at the discretion of the store. If you are able to return an item without a receipt, keep in mind that you'll only be able to get the store's most recent price. There's no way for a retailer to know what was paid for the item, so if it's on sale now, you're stuck with having only the sale value refunded to you. Though it might be awkward or difficult to ask a friend or family member for the receipt, there are tactful ways to do it. Try telling them that a clothing item didn't fit, or perhaps that you already have that DVD or book in your collection.

Beware of Deadlines

Many retailers impose deadlines on returns. These deadlines tend to vary greatly depending upon the type of item. For example, many electronic items have shorter timeframes for returns than clothing items. Be aware of these deadlines when you're making your decision on whether or not to keep the item. If you have any question at all as to whether or not you'd like to keep the gift in question, find out first how long you have to make your decision. If you've only got a couple of days, you definitely don't have time to rest on your laurels while you make your decision whether to keep or return. Timelines for returns may also be shorter for online retailers.

Online Retailers Versus Brick-and-Mortar Stores

Some online retailers that also have brick-and-mortar stores may allow you to return items to their retail locations. However, it's best to check into it before you attempt to do this. It's best to find out before you head out to the store and waste time waiting in the returns line. Online retailers post their return policies on their websites. You may be entitled to a free return by mail. If the website won't allow free returns by mail or returns to their brick-and-mortar stores, you'll definitely want to know how much a return is going to cost you. At the end of the day, it might just be best to hang on to that unwanted gift if it's going to end up costing you money in postage to return it. Some online retailers only credit the account of the person who purchased the item, so be sure to review the retailer's policy before sending the item back. (For related reading, see Comparing Online And In-Store Prices.)

Defective Items

Items that have been opened but are being exchanged because they are defective are generally returnable. So if that new DVD player doesn't actually work, you should still be able to exchange it even if you've taken it out of the box. For best results, be sure to try gift items to make sure they're not defective as soon as you can. You don't want to wait too long to return defective items, and it's still much easier to return defective items when you have the receipt.

Items That Cannot Be Returned

Items that have been personalized are often not returnable – so you're definitely stuck with that embroidered sweater or engraved pen set. Also, some types of clothing items are not returnable, like swimwear or undergarments. The same goes for earrings and cosmetic products, which are generally not returnable for hygienic reasons. Perishable food items or fresh-cut flowers are often not returnable unless they're defective. (For more, see 8 Tips To Help You Control Holiday.)

The Bottom Line

Even though it may be the thought that counts, some gift items just aren't worth keeping. If they're simply going to clutter up your living space and never be used, it's probably wise to exchange them for something you will actually get some use out of. If you do find that you're unable to return an item (or you just can't bring yourself to ask your Great Aunt for the receipt for those horrible socks) you could always try regifting it next year![financialedge.investopedia.com]

How To Go Braless Tips

Just go without a bra, right? Well, it's not quite that simple. Here are some tips on why you'd want to go braless in the first place and how to transition from your over-the-shoulder boulder-holder.
Even if you're actively working to increase your breast size, whether through surgery or the natural methods you can find in Flat to Fab, you can still use our tips for going braless with confidence!

  1. Breast Health. Circulation within the lymphatic system is an all-important part of maintaining breast health. And, you guessed it, bras compress the lymph vessels that are close to the breast's surface, preventing the flow of the lymph fluids that help to clear out toxins. In their book, Dressed To Kill: The Link Between Breast Cancer and Bras, authors Sydney Ross Singer and Soma Grismaijer contend that regular bra-wearing may well be responsible for the huge increase in breast cancer in modern times. So, many women choose to forgo bras for reasons of health and not just comfort. To women who feel compelled to wear a bra, consider massaging your breasts at the end of the day to increase lymph fluid circulation. (To the guys who are reading this, we're talking massage for the purposes of health and not arousal.)

  2. The Nipple Factor. Ever heard of fripples? (Hint: It's not the name of a new Starbucks drink.) The possibility of prominent visible nipples is one of the biggest deterrents to many women who might otherwise go braless. Here are a few solutions to embarrassment over visible nipples:
  • Nipple tape. Nipple tape comes in several different shapes and sizes but the primary idea is to compress the nipple to the level of the surrounding tissue, thus making it less distinctive. There are variations to the nipple tape theme, such as pasties or glue-on cups. Beware that some of these products are designed for function and others for decorative effect.
  • Remember your jacket. Do you remember the boys in high school who liked to turn on the fan and watch the results? When shopping for frozen foods, have a jacket or wrap close at hand. In a similar vein, you don't want to get caught braless in the rain.
  • Vests. Vests are wonderful accessories for going braless with ease. There you are beneath your vest--fashionable, comfortable and braless--with no one the wiser for it.
  • Don't look down. Let's face it. There will be eyes glued to your breasts, whether you're wearing a bra or not. But just because they're looking doesn't mean you have to.
  3. Size Matters. Girls who are AA on a good day can wear just about anything without support but those who are more well-endowed have a different, um, set of problems.
  • The flop factor. One issue for women with large breasts is that movement of the breasts can be painful, particularly at times of the month that breasts tend to be swollen or sensitive. Good posture can help to offset this effect.
  • The modesty question. Big mammaries tend to migrate more than the smaller ones do....out of one's shirt, into one's face when you lean over, and so on. Your choice of clothing makes a big difference in this regard. Get a sense for which articles of clothing contain (but don't restrain) your breasts. Practice at home until you feel comfortable being out in public without a bra.
  • Chafing. Large breasts can chafe the skin just beneath the breast. Sweating, rashes and even fungal infections are also possibilities. Many women find that silk and cotton camisoles worn next to the breast lessen these issues. Some women also apply antiperspirant beneath large breasts or carry a small towel to dry the area beneath their breasts on occasion, an item one friend of mine affectionately calls her "titty towel."
  • Shelf bras. Shelf bras are pretty much what they sound like--a support built into an undershirt that basically provides a shelf for your breasts to rest upon. Unfortunately shelf bras tend to make your chest look like, well, a shelf, but they do provide some support.
  4. Breast Fetishists aka "Breast Men." Most women are all too familiar with the mannerisms of this particular breed: During conversation, the man's eyes are glued to your mammaries to the point that you're tempted to start using sign language. Sociologists and anthropologists remain unsure as to why breast fetishism is as pervasive as it is (sounds like a topic for a government study). Meanwhile, get used to it.......breast men are ubiquitous. For more conversation on this topic, check out various dating blogs.

  5. Breaking In. A week on a topless beach can do wonders for your self-consciousness about going braless. But if you're not planning a trip to the Mediterranean anytime soon, try starting out in the winter when you'll be wearing layers anyway. Get used to how your breasts feel hanging loose--remember that women had been living that way for years before the invention of bras.

For some women, going braless (or "bra-free" as many women prefer to call it) is a political statement; for others, a question of comfort. If you'd like to read the experiences of other women who have, dare I say "taken the plunge," check out GoingBraless.net, where women of all ages, shapes and sizes share their bra-free experiences in a bra-centric world.[howtodothings.com]

Kim Kardashian Tells Kris Humphries : "Don't Lie to Me!"

Kris Humphries is a party animal.

On Sunday's Kim and Kourtney Take New York, Kim Kardashian's then-husband found himself caught in a lie and tried to use Scott Disick as a cover-up.

Against Disick's better judgement, he let the NBA player throw a raucous party at the New York City penthouse apartment they share with Kim and Kourtney Kardashian when the women were out of town.

Though Disick was initially willing to take the blame for the bash -- which Kim found out about after seeing images of other women in her suite posted online -- Humphries eventually came clean.

"There were girls here taking pictures. Scott told me he had some people over," Kim, 31, told Humphries during a fiery confrontation.

"Don't blame Scott, he was just doing the right thing. I had people over," replied Humphries, who had so many people over that he ran out of cups and offered one guest Kourtney's son Mason's sippy cup to drink out of. "I take full responsibility -- I'm sorry. I had a handful of people over with their friends and we were hanging out. Maybe someone got invited that shouldn't have."

But Kim wasn't satisfied with his apology.

Fumed the reality star: "No one is allowed in our suite! This is my private space. Don't lie to me!"

Sunday's episode wasn't the first time Humphries' hard-partying ways got him into hot water with his wife.

Just two months into their infamous 72-day marriage, the couple "had it out" over the fact that Humphries -- then unemployed due to the NBA lockout -- was partying and going out on the town on his wife's dime.

"She told him he needs to do something productive...He needs to get off his ass, like, yesterday," a family friend told Us Weekly at the time.[usmagazine.com]

Skinny Kate Middleton Sizzles in Strapless Gown at Military Event

Daring Duchess!
On Monday, Kate Middleton donned one of her sexiest looks in months at the "Night of Heroes" military awards event at London's Imperial War Museum.

With a dashing, tuxedo-clad Prince William escorting her, the Duchess of Cambridge stunned in a black, strapless velvet gown by Alexander McQueen -- the label behind her iconic wedding gown (and a second reception gown, too).

For the gala -- honoring military servicemen and women -- Kate, 29, also donned private jewelry that she received as wedding gifts. She wore her hair down in her trademark loose, glossy waves. (Despite plenty of pregnancy speculation, the beaming future Queen looked slim as ever for her big night out.)

Kate's brother-in-law Prince Harry was also on the hand for the event, where he and William, 29, presented awards.

In just a few short days, the trio -- plus the entire royal family -- will be ensconced at Sandringham manor, Queen Elizabeth's sprawling retreat in Norfolk, England.

"It will be a difficult baptism in protocol laced with pitfalls," royal watcher Robert Jobson told Us Weekly of Kate's first Christmas with the royals -- and without her own family.[usmagazine.com]

Sandra Bullock : My Son Louis Is a Huge Flirt!

Sandra Bullock has a little ladies' man on her hands.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno Monday, the 47-year-old Academy Award winner said her nearly 2-year-old son Louis is "probably the best baby in the world, but I think every parent says that."

Calling him a "flirt," Bullock said Louis "appreciates the fairer sex."

"He doesn't flirt with me like that, and someone told me that's probably a good thing," she joked. "He's got a look where he just cuts the eyes at the ladies, and I'm like, 'I'm so sorry! I don't know what's happening.'"

Bullock admitted she's a bit overprotective ("Everything is a deathtrap!"), a quality she inherited from her late mother, Helga Meyer.

"My mother was very strict, but rightfully so. She just didn't want me in a car with any boys whatsoever until I was 18. Apparently she knew what went on there and I wanted to find out," Bullock shared. "I was allowed to go on a date twice, to a dance, but I had to call every 20 minutes. I do feel she knew something that I didn't."

The Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close star added that she's looking forward to spending her second Christmas with baby Louis.

"I don't think he understands the concept, but he does understand that everything at his height level is really bright with lots of lights," she laughed. "He doesn't get it yet but I think next year he'll get it and demand things."[usmagazine.com]

Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt Take All 6 Kids to See Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas

The Jolie-Pitts hit Sin City!

On the eve of Brad Pitt's 48th birthday, the actor and his partner Angelina Jolie took their six kids -- Maddox, 10, Pax, 8, Zahara, 6, Shiloh, 5 and twins Vivienne and Knox, 3 -- to see Cirque de Soleil's staging of Michael Jackson: THE IMMORTAL World Tour Saturday.

Slipping into the day's early performance at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Pitt and Jolie, 36, sat with their family in the second row and even joined the rest of the audience in a standing ovation for the cast after the performance.

"The artists were pleasantly surprised by this unannounced visit," a source tells Us Weekly.

Hopefully the weekend outing will help up the famous parents' cool quotient, since Jolie has said her children don't consider them to be hip, despite their A-list status.

"Fortunately, I've scored some points at home because of Kung Fu Panda. They love Tigress, who is my alternate personality," Jolie recently told The Hollywood Reporter. "Otherwise, they think Brad and I are just so not cool."[usmagazine.com]

Britney Spears engaged to former agent Jason Trawick

Britney Spears engaged to former agent Jason Trawick

Britney Spears is ready to walk down the aisle one more time.

Jason Trawick, her former agent, popped the question Thursday, which also happened to be his 40th birthday, Us Weekly reports.

Spears appeared to confirm the news on her Twitter account Friday morning. "OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I've been waiting for. Can't wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo," she tweeted.

On Access Hollywood Live Friday morning, host Billy Bush was texting with Trawick, who confirmed the news.

In May 2010, Spears, 30, and Trawick confirmed that they were dating and officially announced the end of their business relationship. At the time, they said in a statement that they "have decided to end their professional relationship and focus on their personal relationship."

This will be Spears' third marriage, following a 55-hour Las Vegas union to childhood friend Jason Alexander in 2004 and a 2½-year marriage to former backup dancer Kevin Federline that ended in 2007.

Spears' romance with Trawick came on the heels of the most turbulent chapter in her career, which included losing custody of her sons, Sean Preston, 6, and Jayden James, 5, to Federline, being hospitalized and placed on several psychiatric holds and a rocky relationship with paparazzo Adnan Ghalib.

But with Trawick, Spears has seemed more at ease, taking family vacations with her sons, launching a successful world tour and returning to the top of the charts with her latest album, Femme Fatale.

On Dec. 10, Spears wrapped her Femme Fatale tour, which Trawick, her sons, father Jamie, sister Jamie Lynn and niece Maddie joined her on. A smiling Spears and Trawick were spotted waving to fans from the balcony of their Rio de Janiero hotel during a tour stop last month.[usatoday.com]

Dina Lohan Addresses Scary Skinny Ali Lohan Pics

Dina Lohan Addresses Scary Skinny Ali Lohan Pics

Does mom know best?

Ali Lohan's rail thin appearance has caused concern for health, but mom Dina says the model is A-okay.

Dina recently told Us Weekly she "doesn't read any of the rubbish" printed about her 17-year-old daughter's shrinking figure. The starlet has been spotted this month in Beverly Hills and Oahu looking shockingly gaunt.

The Lohan matriarch also scoffed at rumors that Ali underwent plastic surgery. "I would never condone plastic surgery at such a young age," Dina told Us. "Ali is a wonderful person and an amazing soul."

In a recent interview with Page Six magazine, Ali (who goes by her full name Aliana now) said that "she's always had a fast metabolism and is able to eat what she wants, from scrambled eggs with American cheese and hot sauce to Nutella."

Paris Jackson Recalls Wearing Mask: ‘This Is Stupid’

Paris Jackson Recalls Wearing Mask: ‘This Is Stupid’

“If I die tomorrow, always remember what I told you.”

This was the most memorable thing Michael Jackson told her, his daughter Paris says in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres airing Thursday on “Ellen.”

“I took his advice, and I remembered everything he told me,” Paris adds.

Michael Jackson died at the age of 50 in 2009.

Paris, 13, will star in an upcoming live action-animated film called “Lundon’s Bridge and the Three Keys,” based on the young adult fantasy book series by Dennis H. Christen.

According to her publicist, Paris wanted to do the film because half of its and the book’s profits will support schools, and because of its environmental message, a cause Michael Jackson espoused as well.

In the interview she says Michael Jackson inspired her interest in acting.

“My dad was in the movie ‘Moonwalker,’ and I knew he could sing really well, but I didn’t know he could act,” says Paris. “I saw that and I said, Wow, I want to be just like him.”

Michael would do improvisation exercises with Paris, she says.

“He would give us little scenarios. He would say, ‘O.K., in this scene you’re going to cry,’ and I’d cry on the spot.”

When asked about wearing a mask in public, a practice Michael enforced to protect his children from media attention, Paris says, “I’m like, this is stupid. Why am I wearing a mask? But I kind of realized the older I got, like, he only tried to protect us, and he’d explain that to us, too.”

Perhaps surprisingly, given how little surrounding Michael Jackson can be described as “regular,” Paris says, “I do have a regular childhood.”

She says she loves school, and that when she started at her current school, “They didn’t know who I was. I was like, Yes! I have a chance to be normal.”[abcnews.go.com]

Scarlett Johansson: Don't Call Me ScarJo!

A nickname is often meant as a term of endearment.

But Scarlett Johansson doesn't take kindly to people shortening hers to "ScarJo."

"It's laziness," the 27-year-old actress told USA Today. "People can't actually say the whole name? It's just bizarre."

She pondered aloud why other stars didn't have their names shortened by the press -- like Daniel Day-Lewis as "DaDay" or Cate Blanchett as "CaBla."

"Why is that?" she quipped. "Why do I have to get 'stuck' with a mangled moniker?"

She told USA today if she hears someone refer to her as "ScarJo," she "[doesn't] know them at all."

In addition to being called a nickname she detests, Johansson endured a very public breakup from husband Ryan Reynolds and a split from boyfriend Sean Penn this past year. "The hardest part is actually going through whatever hardship you're facing. Going through it in public is the added unfortunate thing," she told USA Today. "There's nothing you can do about that."

Despite her hectic 2011, she said "it'd be silly to say, 'Oh, God, I can't wait for this year to end.' Why wish your time away?"[usmagazine.com]

Yup, That's Whoopi Goldberg Farting on The View This Morning

Whoopi Goldberg's probably wondering, "Why couldn't everyone have been talking at once when this happened?!"

The Oscar-winning cohost of The View suffered an all-too-human embarrassment on the air this morning when she let down her guard for a split second—and let one rip.

Hey, it happens! Not always when Claire Danes is talking, but...

The Golden Globe nominee was discussing why she thinks her critically acclaimed Showtime series Homeland was so well-received, when, from the other side of Joy Behar came a little "poot"!

"How polite!" Danes exclaimed, laughing.

But we're going to have to hand it to Goldberg for not playing the it-was-the-chair card and, instead, patting her belly, glancing down at her backside and saying, "Oh, excuse me! I think I just blew a little frog out of there!"

And then she asked her question and all was forgotten. Well, you know, except for the million hits on YouTube and stuff.[eonline.com]

Justin Bieber Befriends Dads of Screaming Girls Everywhere

Justin Bieber Befriends Dads of Screaming Girls Everywhere

Justin Bieber is reaching out to an unlikely ally in a last-minute effort to sell bottles of his perfume Someday for the holidays: the fathers of all those screaming girls.

After all, as the pop star helpfully points out in a new video, it's better that they be gaga for someone that they're unlikely to encounter like Bieber than a guy they already know, right? He does have a point there! The video is one of several that fans can be included in after uploading a photo to the Someday website.

And, if you're among the many fans of the Canadian-born teen king, you'll want to make your calendar (in pink and with lots of hearts around it!) for 9 p.m. ET/PT December 21 when TLC airs its new special "This is Justin Bieber."

The hour-long show includes interviews with Biebs, acoustic versions of songs from his holiday album Under the Mistletoe, and behind-the-scenes footage of his recent trip to London, including a performance on "The X Factor UK." The network has even created a slideshow to get you pumped to watch it.[omg.yahoo.com]

Kate Middleton Named 2011's Best-Mannered Person, Kim Kardashian Slammed as "Most Ill-Mannered"

Kim Kardashian sure could use a lesson in manners from Kate Middleton.

The National League of Junior Cotillions named the newlywed royal to the top of their annual etiquette list of the "Ten Best-Mannered People of 2011," while divorcee Kardashian failed to make the list, and was slammed as the "Most Ill-Mannered" person of the year.

Compiled by the etiquette and social training program, the list ranks actors, celebrities, singers and athletes based on one's "demonstration of dignity, honor and respect," according to NLJC national director Elizabeth Anne Winters.

Praised for "the poise and dignity with which she conducts herself in the public spotlight," Prince William's wife of eight months was the clear front-runner for this year's top spot, said Winters.

Justin Bieber (no. 2 on the list) and Paula Abdul (no. 3) were also applauded for their behavior this year, as were Taylor Swift (no. 5) and Harry Potter's Emma Watson (no. 9).

Kardashian didn't even make the list, with the group blasting Kris Humphries' reality star ex for "making a private matter public and disrespecting the institution of marriage."[omg.yahoo.com]
