Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama made a surprise appearance as a guest 'judge' on Monday's episode of Masterchef Australia on Australian TV
The Daily Star reports that contestants had to prepare a vegetarian lunch for the monk, who refused to rate their dishes as it went against his principles as a Buddhist.
He said: "My knowledge of these things is very limited. Whatever I get I accept. As a Buddhist monk it is not right to prefer this food or that food."

Among the dishes the Dalai Lama tasted were a Sri Lankan curry and gnocchi.
He said that all the meals "had a special taste and beauty".
Judge Gary Mehigan said of the contestants' reactions: "They were speechless, they just couldn't believe it. Cooking for the Dalai Lama, it doesn't get much better than this."[rte.ie]
