Man Of Steel Pushed Back For 'The Hobbit'; Superman Delay?

Superman fans will have to wait until 2013 to see the superhero fly back into cinemas - studio bosses have delayed the film's release to make way for The Hobbit next year (12).

The highly-anticipated new big screen Superman outing, Man of Steel, starring Henry Cavill as the superhero, was initially slated for a December, 2012 release, but execs at Warner Bros. have decided to delay the movie's debut by six months.

The first installment of the Lord of the Rings prequel will now be released in December (12), with Man of Steel hitting theatres six months later in June, 2013, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The new Superman film will now duke it out for box office bucks with the Thor and Iron Man sequels in what is being dubbed the Summer of the Super Men.[postchronicle.com]
