They may have been relaxing on the beach but that didn't stop Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise from putting their best feet forward - in high heels.
The mother and daughter both wore heels as they attended a Memorial Day beach party in Malibu.
The five-year-old slipped her feet into some gold strappy sandals, while her 32-year-old mother opted for charcoal kitten heels as they strolled in the sand.
Suri paired her grown-up shoes with a pretty pink floral skirt and a white long-sleeved top, and wore her chocolate locks loose around her shoulders.
Her mother looked equally chic in a pair of denim shorts, a white v-neck tee and a black linen blazer.
She finished off the look with a straw fedora hat.
The pair had a ball under the warm Californian sun, with Katie keeping a close eye on Suri who was particularly taken by a pink balloon.
Suri watched wide-eyed as other children played nearby with beach toys, but made sure to keep close to her mother.
After their visit to the beach, the tired child required a helping hand up the stairs from Katie as they made their way back to the party.
Katie husband and Suri's father Tom Cruise was also at the party. The 48-year-old actor, who was also wearing a fedora hat, opted to stay with his son Connor, 16.
This isn't the first time Suri has emerged in her glamorous gilded heels.
A couple of weeks ago she flew from Miami with her mother in a private jet, dressed in green leggings, a grey top and her golden shoes.
With gusts created by the plane's turbines, smiling Suri had to grab on to her head as her hair billowed everywhere.
The family had been spending their last few days in Miami while Cruise started filming his new project Rock Of Ages alongside Alec Baldwin, Malin Akerman, Russell Brand and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Suri has been credited — and blamed — for causing a multi-million-dollar mania for putting pampered chlldren in designer labels after being seen wearing $800 miniature Marc Jacobs heels and a $2,100 Dolce & Gabbana trenchcoat.
Suri has been wearing high heels for two years, with her mother describing them as 'ballroom dancing shoes for kids'.
Thanks to a serious shopping habit that has been indulged since she was a toddler, Suri's wardrobe is said to be worth nearly $3.3million.
Suri has also been wearing make-up for two years and was seen earlier this year making selections at beauty chain Sephora in New York.
She favours pink lipstick for daytime and a dramatic slash of red at night.
Suri also has her own designer bags to carry her books and cuddly toys — she has a smaller version of her mother’s Ferragamo Sofia bag and often carries her very own $18,000 Hermes handbag.
